Sally Field exemplifies poise and genuineness in a field that is largely driven by superficiality and immaturity. She refuses to give in to the societal expectations placed on Hollywood actresses and instead embraces aging gracefully at the age of 76.
Forrest Gump and Steel Magnolias star Sally Field provides a fresh take on the pervasive problem of ageism in Hollywood. Famous for her roles in Gidget and The Flying Nun, Field rose to fame after being born in Pasadena, California, in 1946.
She then made the jump to film, where she was a standout in Norma Rae, Smokey and the Bandit, Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire, and many more masterpieces. Two Oscars, three Primetime Emmys, two Golden Globes, two SAGs, and a Tony nomination were among the many honors bestowed to Field for her exceptional talent.
Field added the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award to her impressive resume in February 2023.
