People are shocked when their neighbor says “no” to taking their kids at 3 a.m.

There are many people who are happy to help their neighbor when they need it. But sometimes the request is too much for some people, and they won’t go the extra mile.

Read on to find out what this neighbor didn’t like…

For many people, especially those who already have kids, going into labor can be very stressful. If the labor comes on quickly and you weren’t ready for it, it can be hard to find childcare.

Some people have a plan, but sometimes the start of labor can really mess up your plans. This mom, on the other hand, didn’t think about who would watch her older kids while she ran to the hospital to give birth. She shared her story on Reddit to find out what people thought.

A 26-year-old mother wrote about moving to a new apartment building a year ago. Everyone in the building was new, so everyone moved in around the same time as them, and they were all getting to know each other.

The courtyard between the buildings is shared, so the kids who live there play together. A lot of young families live in the building, so people often help each other out. The young mother talked about helping other moms with their kids by giving them baby formula and other things. She did say, though, that she stays away from the other mothers and hasn’t become friends with any of them.

The young mother didn’t have her husband with her because he had gone to see family and friends. Her two-year-old and eleven-month-old were in her care.

The moms in the building work together as a group to help each other with child care. There is a rotating system where they take turns, but she stays quiet and doesn’t offer to help because she doesn’t want anyone else to watch her kids.

She said that someone had knocked on her door the day before at 3 a.m. There was no one at the door because she was home alone with her kids and didn’t want anyone to come in. It was also very late at night.

When they wouldn’t go away, she peeped through her window and saw that it was her neighbor. The neighbor had just given birth and was nine months pregnant. She stood outside her door with her boyfriend and a bag for the hospital. Her neighbor asked if she could watch their kids for an hour while their aunt got there.

She said no because she didn’t want to be responsible if something happened to her kids and she also didn’t want to risk waking them up.

The neighbor had four kids, ages 1 to 4. She said she didn’t want to have four kids running around her house because she already had two kids of her own. Then she said that the 1-year-old would have been very close to their primary caregivers, so it would have been hard to calm them down because she was a stranger.

When she got angry, her boyfriend yelled at her, telling her that as a mother, she couldn’t help someone who was having a hard time. Someone had talked to her that way if her husband had been there, she thought. She checked Reddit to see if she was wrong about what was going on.

On the Reddit thread, a lot of people agreed with her. Someone said that the parents looked like they got themselves into this mess because they didn’t plan ahead. Schezzi said that the parents had nine months to make plans but “left their kids’ safety and well-being until the very last minute.”

Some users were not as nice, though, and they thought this was rude. While writing, BrinaGu3 said it didn’t seem right to help someone in need.

The original poster later came back and told everyone that the neighbor who agreed to take the kids in told her that the aunt wouldn’t be there until 8 a.m. Both of her kids didn’t sleep all night, and she woke them up too. They also messed up her house. Through all of this, she tried to prove to everyone that she was right to not take the kids.
